|
| The influenza season is about to be upon us. The CDC (Center for Communicable Diseases) in Atlanta is already reporting episodes of outbreak of this year's influenza virus (www.cdc.gov). This is most unusual, because it is early in the season. Most outbreaks will begin in mid to late November and will last through mid-March or even April. |
| The CDC has not predicted when influenza activity will pick up, and they have not issued warnings for early vaccinations. Recommendations are that people start receiving vaccinations from October, through mid November. They did not detect any new or unusually virulent influenza viruses associated with this year's outbreak. |

Where
do I get the Flu shot?
|
| The Healthy Woman started giving patients flu shots since the beginning of October. Patients can simply call and let us know they are coming in-you don't need an actual appointment. We do not charge for a visit just to get a flu shot. In fact, if someone you know wants a flu shot, they do not even have to be an existing patient. They can simply call, and come in. Anyone allergic to eggs should not take the flu vaccination! The cost is only twenty-two dollars, is given by our Registered Nurses, and will afford you the best possible protection against the upcoming flu season. |
