Gynecology
We are continuing to perform our routine gynecological care and services. We follow all the current guidelines for screening and are keeping tabs on you regarding your labs, mammograms, colonoscopies, bone scans, etc. Remember that many women do not have "other" doctors and use their GYN and their primary care. Among the things we offer:
Annual exams, Pap smears (when indicated), and other common gyn problems.
Menopause and Peri-menopause . Am I in menopause? I don't want to take hormones? Do I have to take hormones? What about Bio-identical Hormones? What are they and how do they differ? Do I need to do anything ? THIS IS WHAT WE DO! We will not sell you anything and have no financial incentives that go with our advice and counsel . Our information, as always, is based on the most recent medical evidence and is presented for your evaluation.
Ultrasound screening (can be performed in the exam room) as needed.
Birth control options Decide what best meets your personal and individual need.
Bleeding, pain and menstrual irregularities . Newer, non-invasive treatments for heavy menstrual bleeding, newer hormonal and/or surgical options to help an active life style. See our section on " A New Treatment for Heavy Periods." [www.novasure.com ]
Urinary incontinence problems . Many people will not need any surgery and the problem can be fixed by life style changes or medications. If surgery is the only answer, which type? Who to do it? We often do many second opinions for other patients for whom surgery has been recommended.
Vaginal support and/or uterine prolapse. Often women will have a sensation of pressure or "something is falling out". Surgery is not always necessary; the solution may be as simple as a minor
vaginal procedure. Our many years of clinical experience helps us determine what kind of problem you have and how we can arrive at a practical solution.
Gynecological surgeries and Second Opinions. Many patients will seek a second opinion for a recommended gynecological/urological surgery. We carefully
evaluate each patient and provide an honest, truthful opinion based upon years of experience as to the necessity or consequences of the proposed surgery.
