LIPOSUCTION
Dr. Bassin has been performing Liposuction on his gynecological patients since 1995. At that time, this aspect of cosmetic surgery had been requested by many patients, and was soon incorporated successfully into the practice. The gyn-laparoscopic surgeon offers a unique service to our patients because many out patient surgical procedures, such as sterilization, laparoscopy, laser surgeries, and vaginal surgeries, can be performed at the same time and in combination with Liposuction. No additional incisions are needed.
Liposuction was developed to remove stubborn fat deposits that don't respond to dieting and exercise. These bulges are most commonly found in the thighs, hips, abdomen, and buttocks. When considering liposuction, you should understand that the number of fat cells that we have in our bodies are permanently set during adolescence. We can never grow new fat cells.
Fat cells can never re-grow, regenerate or come back!
Liposuction is the permanent removal of fat cells!

Are you a good candidate?

Liposuction can enhance the appearance of men and women of all ages while boosting self-esteem. The best candidates are healthy men and women with good skin elasticity and realistic expectations. "Realistic" means improvement, not always perfection. The person should not be too far from their ideal body weight, and also realize that cellulite will not be cured by liposuction.
How is it done?
The majority of patients require and request "the big three" areas to be done. These are the hips, thighs, and abdomen. To do it well with good results for a total body contour, a brief outpatient hospital stay is required. A general anesthesia, administered by an anesthesiologist, is usually utilized to get the best results. Newer liposuction techniques, called tumescent liposuction, are used to significantly reduce any bleeding and pain. This involves injecting the area to be suctioned with a special fluid/anesthesia combination prior to suctioning.
What can I expect?
This procedure is not for obese people, and most people will not lose weight. It will not replace good eating and exercise habits, but it will remove unwanted fat deposits in many areas of the body. For most women, these areas are the hips, thighs, lower abdomen, and flanks. For most men, it is the upper abdomen and the "rolls" or "tires" on the flanks.
This provides you with a basic understanding of Liposuction. Because it is important that you understand all the aspects of the procedure, you are invited to call for a free consultation and evaluation. There is no cost or obligation to you. I will be more than happy to discuss your individual circumstances and design an appropriate plan for you. You will be given realistic expectations of what liposuction can do for you.
Vaginal Rejuvenation
We all know that sexual enjoyment and pleasure are dependent on many factors. However, physical changes that occur with time should not get in the way because they can often be corrected. The vaginal walls will lose tone, lose support, and can cause a decrease in sexual sensitivity during intercourse. These changes occur with time and are mostly due to a genetic predisposition. It is not necessarily related to weight gain or the number of children you may have had or even the delivery circumstances.
These changes can also be responsible for recurrent or, at times, constant urinary leakage. With time, the bladder loses some of its tone and "leaking" can be embarrassing socially or can even occur at the time of intercourse. This can result in a decrease in social activities or even avoiding sex.
Vaginal rejuvenation is a simple outpatient procedure that will help correct the loss of tone in the vaginal walls. It can:
  • Enhance physical contact for both sexes.
  • Improve sexual stimulation during intercourse.
  • Help improve libido, without fear of "leaking".
  • Correct any loss of vaginal and/or bladder support.
  • Help decrease socially embarrassing situations.
  • Improve self-esteem.
